Changing your thoughts

Changing your thoughts and beliefs can be a lifetime process. We are constantly bombarded by others thoughts and beliefs and we can either be true to our own set of beliefs or adapt another. An example of this is our concept of country and sovereign states. We all know we live on the same planet that we call Earth. We know that that any boundaries made on this planet are designed by man and those we give the power too. Why then do we look upon countries and say one is third world, one a super power and another may be in an “Axis of evil”. They are manifestations of other peoples beliefs and boundaries, but we respect that and give it power. Our Inner beliefs may be some of the same shared beliefs.

We are identified in our culture by our gender, yet do we not have some of the same characteristics of both sexes? I am male yet I can be an artist and also change the plugs on my car. Both can be extremes of gender identification We need some of our beliefs for outside recognition and to belong to a society but our Inner beliefs about ourselves and others do not need the restrictions of society. How can I embrace my entire self? It starts with knowing and understanding the patterns of thought make up who we are. We indentify each part for what its role is in our being. An example is our ego, a term we use to encompass our outer personality. Can we survive without an ego? I would think not as this is what others see and exhibits certain control from our baser instincts. But if the ego is left unchecked and unbalanced do we experience difficulties, yes we do. So we learn to appreciate each and every part our Inner Self and give a greater definition of its role to our growth and well being. We give the ego permission to hold in check our baser instincts but restrict it from taking over our creative thinking and seeking the Truth.

To change our thoughts and beliefs we need to replace old ideas with more productive ideas. Affirmations of what we want to grow and develop in our Inner Self and to be of service to others. A denial process of those thought and beliefs that do not support our growth and development is essential to relearn and reprogram our long held beliefs and to change them. Daily working on choosing the right thoughts and ideas are needed for long lasting growth and to develop a pattern of thinking that allows us to be an observer and participant in life and enjoy our time here on this one planet, Earth.

How your thoughts effort your life

Choosing your thoughts wisely can open the doors to increased spiritual growth. We co-create the One, our personal environment around us. A good indicator of how far we have traveled as Spiritual Beings to take an inner look at the circumstance and people we have attracted to our life. For many this can be an eye opening experience, if we look and see many situations and relationships we would not have chosen otherwise. The truth is we have attracted those around us. They reflect our inner most thoughts and beliefs. Enjoy those people around you because they are whom you are seeking and reflect back to you your inner state.

If you look and say “I attracted that???” then you need to clarify your thoughts either about them or identify what false beliefs and thought patterns we have held. It is easiest to look at them first, so that is where we will start. What can the people around you do to provide Inner Growth and strength? Are they setting a bad example to you so that you do not follow there path? Most likely they reflect in you the traits you most have hidden and are in denial about. Each one of the people we relate closest too can be a mirror to our Inner most conflicted thoughts and beliefs. Those that make us the angriest of fear the most have reflected our own fears and anxieties. We see in them those buried emotions and thoughts that at one point in time served us well but do not on the pathway to Discovery and enlightenment. By recognizing we have the same traits they have and they are here to allow us to grow we then take a look at what they reflect in out thought patterns and beliefs.

So let’s change our thoughts and beliefs. That is an easy thing to say and write, but the execution of that statement can be a difficult one. It takes a careful examination of the beliefs about our selves and the world around us before we start. The longer the belief is held the stronger it becomes. Not that we cannot change it immediately, but typically the underlying thought behind it is buried in other thoughts and beliefs. We need to own all of Inner Self, the things we label as bad and good will block our progress. We need to make peace with our inner souls and move to a place as the quiet observer to be able to clarify our thoughts and change our present and future direction.

Whats so crazy about peace, love and understanding

We tend to examine the world like an old time scientist that sought to prove the theorem of the day throughout his entire life. We look at a linear equation and try to look for a missing variable that makes sense of what we see in front of us. We see a solid wall, a chair, a desk and buildings and make the theory that they are build of solid materials and that they are what we see with our eyes. Modern science is agreeing that what we actually see is a mass of energy working to make a solid object that looks how we perceive it and want it to be. We strive to fit solids together like a dove tailed joint so that we can have a dimensional understanding of them.

We also do the same with our beliefs and emotional responses. We strive to make sense of the world and make it reflect what we believe about it. The last decade has been a fear based emotional upheaval for the United States and the world as a whole. We have politicians that reflect that fear and have preyed on that very visceral emotional response to govern our country and engage the rest of the world. A fear based theory of looking at life will reflect in our everyday outlook on life and make solid the energy of what events take place in history at the same way we create walls, chairs, desks and buildings.

In this scenario we create a fearful world and nature supplies the events that we dictate to happen, social unrest and duality of individuals and governments and even seeming natural disasters that gladly exhibit that our fears are founded and expect more to happen. With our emotions based in fear how can we not create an environment that fear increases and reflects our beliefs about the world? We have seen an increase in activism on both the political left and the right making the beliefs in a pluralistic society appears real.

We have to create a new society that understands it molds the world around us and can see how our influence, even on a small level has an impact world wide and start the process of bringing the world to a higher spiritual level, a greater plain of understanding and seeking to act as One rather than a mass of individuals looking for meaning in our wall, chairs, desks and buildings.
